Simon Says

Simon Says:

"Look into my eyes"

Simon Says:
"Give me a toy to play with"

Simon Says:
"Adore me for my cuteness"

Simon Says:
"Hold me and love me forever"

Now Stop.

"Ohhh....Simon didn't say!!!"

Resume of Suzie Q

Hi there, my name is Suzie Q, and I'm applying for the position of your cat.

I have many great skills and qualities that make me an ideal candidate.

 I'm sweet and cuddly.
But I also know the value of a good romp around the room.
I know when to be quiet...
And when to speak my mind.
I'm professional and always dressed for success.
And am happy to put my paws to the grindstone when I need to.
I am experienced in most computer programs.
And am always ready to pounce on an opportunity!

Thank you for your consideration!

Meet Bubbles

So there is a story behind these little ones.  Bear with me here.

These little ones and their mama came to she shelter weeks ago.  The were sent out to another loving foster home.  Unfortunately, the foster family who had them is moving to California shortly (though I have NO idea why they would want to leave this glorious rain for all that sun they have down there...hmmm, maybe I'm a little jealous?). So when I got the call asking if I could take them on, it was an easy decision.  Ok, at this point I'm going through kitty withdraw enough I would have said yes to just about anything.  But knowing their foster mom personally, I knew this would be easy.  They are already wonderfully socialized, so all they really need is time to grow and some meds...they're a sniffley little bunch of putty tats.

They came with names...I just gotta learn which is which!

So here is Bubbles.  As you will see, she is VERY uncomfortable in her new home and having a TERRIBLE time settling in...

Definitely not comfortable in my house... ;)

You are getting veeeery sleeeeeeepy....

2011: A year in review

Well, we've been kittenless for almost a month now.  While the house is lonely without little ones under foot, it  is also nice to have a bit of a break, some r&r, and a good carpet scrub.  So, since we have no new cuties to show off, we thought we'd take a look back at the 28 (was it really only that few?) felines that passed through I doors last year.

We started 2011 with the three stooges.  They were only with us a week, but they certainly lived up to their names!

Next, Cashmere and Angora graced our walls with all their fabulous fur!

After a short break (less than a week!)  We brought home the cutest trio of tabbies.  Merceedes, Porche and Bentley wasted no time driving themselves into our hearts!

A quick little interlude with singleton Gizmo.  She hissed her way into our arms.
This photo was provided by her new family.  Look how big she has gotten!

The magic was just beginning when we brought home Sweet Alice and her little tweedles.

Mama Aretha and her melodious babies made themselves right at home.

The Gods must have spoken, because next we were blessed with Athena, Zeus and Aphrodite.

That was supposed to be the end for the year, but when we received an emergency call about a mom with six kittens cowering under a bush, we jumped into action.

We feel so privileged to have been a part of each and every one of these lives, and we will keep their memories in our hearts forever.  We are looking forward to lots of fur babies in 2012, but first we are taking some time off to recharge and prepare ourselves.

Happy New Year to you and your, regardless how many legs they have!
